At the threshold between urban life and landscape, The Bi-polar Chameleon, designed by Loci Anima, is a cultural and multipurpose facility that plays with contrasts, uses, and perceptions. A true living organism, it adapts to the rhythm of the city, the seasons, and the events that bring it to life.
Positioned at a tipping point between built density and open nature, the building balances two polarities: a cultural stage oriented toward public space, and an intimate refuge conducive to reflection, reading, or contemplation. Materials shift in texture and color depending on the sunlight; façades move; spaces open and close.
Conceived as a reversible and evolving architecture, The Bi-polar Chameleon serves multiple functions: performance hall, media library, flexible lobby, workshops… It is a place for living, creating, and learning—rooted in its neighborhood but open to imagination.
With this project, Loci Anima explores a form of responsive architecture, capable of interacting with both its environment and its users—a building in motion, mirroring the ever-changing world it inhabits.
