Moored along the Canal de l’Ourcq, at the heart of the Paris General Warehouses (EMGP), the EMGP Barge, designed by Loci Anima, redefines the concept of a cultural platform. At the crossroads of artistic, urban, and industrial worlds, this floating project becomes a hybrid space—both a creative factory, a living hub, and a site for experimentation.
Its architecture draws from the aesthetics of light industry: metal structure, open façades, and modular volumes. Yet it transforms these into a space of freedom, where disciplines converge—design, music, digital arts, craftsmanship, and urban ecology. The upper deck hosts public events, screenings, concerts, and talks, while the interior contains workshops, studios, artist residencies, and co-working areas.
The EMGP Barge is conceived as a mobile extension of the city—able to evolve, to move, and to foster connections between shores and networks. It is a living urban tool, both anchored and fluid, giving the canal a renewed central role in shaping the contemporary metropolis.
With this project, Loci Anima explores an architecture in motion—accessible, open, and deeply engaged.
