In the heart of La Garenne-Colombes, Loci Anima transforms a former public bathhouse into a contemporary cinema, while preserving the memory of the place. Named Les Bains, the project embodies the adaptive reuse of local heritage into a vibrant, accessible, and welcoming cultural hub.
The building retains traces of its history: the brick façade, generous volumes, and high ceilings. These features are subtly reinterpreted to accommodate new uses—screening rooms, a café space, a lobby, and an exhibition area—all organized around a central landscaped patio, providing a breath of fresh air in the urban fabric.
The architectural style combines simplicity and elegance, using sustainable materials with particular attention paid to acoustics, natural light, and audience comfort. The cinema becomes a place for gathering, connection, and everyday life—a seamless blend of culture and community.
With Les Bains, Loci Anima delivers a thoughtful reinvention: a space full of history, reopened to the city and looking toward the future.
