Nouvelle Vague is a mixed-use development in Nantes, designed to stand out as a visual landmark within a diverse urban fabric. The project features a distinctive, varied roofline that ensures a smooth transition between the street-facing five-story section and the three-story wing, making the building easily identifiable in the cityscape.
The façade is adorned with plant-inspired patterns, resembling a tattoo, symbolizing the perpetual shade provided by the vegetation on the balconies. These loggias function as hanging gardens, offering each resident a personal slice of nature amidst the urban environment.
Emphasizing natural light, the building is designed so that 80% of the apartments are dual-aspect, ensuring optimal summer comfort. Additionally, the innovative “My car under my house” concept allows residents to park their vehicles in open-air spaces directly beneath their homes, optimizing land use and enhancing convenience.
