Tipi Tower, New York

The Tipi Tower pro­ject, desi­gned by the firm Loci Anima, is an inno­va­tive archi­tec­tu­ral pro­po­sal loca­ted in New York’s Hudson Yards dis­trict. This woo­den tower concept aims to rede­fine the role of data cen­ters by inte­gra­ting them har­mo­niously into the urban fabric and trans­for­ming them into mul­ti­func­tio­nal spaces.

An orga­nic and sym­bo­lic archi­tec­ture
The Tipi Tower draws ins­pi­ra­tion from the shape of a tipi, sym­bo­li­zing the connec­tion bet­ween humans and nature. Its light­weight, modu­lar woo­den struc­ture reflects Loci Anima’s com­mit­ment to sus­tai­nable and envi­ron­men­tally res­pect­ful archi­tec­ture. This approach ali­gns with the agency’s concept of post-indus­trial ani­mism, see­king to esta­blish a sym­bio­tic rela­tion­ship bet­ween archi­tec­ture and its natu­ral envi­ron­ment.
