Renault Trucks Defense Headquarters, Versailles

The Renault Trucks Défense Headquarters, now known as Arquus, is an ico­nic pro­ject desi­gned by the archi­tec­ture firm Loci Anima in 2007. Located on the Satory site in Versailles, this 3,500 m² buil­ding was deve­lo­ped for Compagnie de Phalsbourg and Renault Trucks Défense. The construc­tion cost amoun­ted to 7 mil­lion euros.

An iden­tity-dri­ven and adap­table archi­tec­ture
The pro­ject stands out for its unique and conver­tible design, mee­ting the company’s spe­ci­fic needs while offe­ring flexi­bi­lity to adapt to evol­ving acti­vi­ties. One notable fea­ture of this buil­ding is the use of solar shades sha­ped like eye­lashes, an inno­va­tive solu­tion to regu­late sun­light and ensure ther­mal com­fort for occu­pants.

A stra­te­gic site for Arquus
Since its deli­very in 2007, the Renault Trucks Défense head­quar­ters, now Arquus, has remai­ned a cen­tral ele­ment of the com­pany. Located at:

This site hosts research and deve­lop­ment acti­vi­ties as well as mana­ge­ment and indus­trial coor­di­na­tion func­tions. It is acces­sible by public trans­port, nota­bly via the ​“Les Marronniers” bus stop, about a 5-minute walk away.

Arquus plays a key role in moder­ni­zing the French army’s land mobi­lity capa­bi­li­ties, with ico­nic vehicles such as the Sherpa, Bastion, and VAB Mk2. Its exper­tise also extends to remote-control­led wea­pon sys­tems like the Hornet tur­ret, deve­lo­ped in part­ner­ship with Safran.
